Protect your VSL on your page

Signed URLs, domain allowlisting, country and device rules, bot and VPN blocking, and a decoy video for anyone trying to take it. Every rule is enforced on our servers, not in the browser.

How it works

Four locks, all on the server

Nothing added to time to first frame.

Signed URLs, checked on the manifest

Segment tokens expire and are validated as the manifest is served. No second request and no check endpoint to probe.

Domain, country and device rules

The video plays on the domains you list, in the countries you allow, on the devices you choose. Embed it on a competitor page and it will not load.

Bots, proxies and VPNs

Datacenter traffic is not a buyer, and most scraping hides behind a proxy. Block both and stop paying for the plays.

A decoy for thieves

Scrapers and downloader extensions are served a decoy video instead of your pitch. Switch it on per video.

Why it matters

A VSL that converts is worth stealing

A JavaScript domain check is a lock with the key taped to the door. Here the rule set never reaches the browser.

FAQ

Questions about Content Protection for VSLs

How is this different from a domain whitelist?

Most players check a domain whitelist in JavaScript, which anyone can read and bypass. TrackPlay validates every rule on the HLS manifest request itself, so the rule set never reaches the browser.

Do signed URLs slow down playback?

No. Segment tokens are validated as the manifest is served, with no second request and nothing added to time to first frame.

What happens if someone embeds my video elsewhere?

It will not load, or it plays a decoy instead of your pitch. The video plays only on the domains you list and in the countries you allow.

Why block datacenter traffic and VPNs?

Traffic from a datacenter is not a buyer, and most scraping hides behind a proxy. Blocking both also means you stop paying for those plays.
