7 best Vimeo alternatives in 2026

Vimeo is a good place to store and show video. These are the alternatives when the video has a different job: selling, feeding a CRM, streaming cheaply at volume, or reaching people for free.

The short answer

The best Vimeo alternative for anyone who sells with video is TrackPlay. It hosts the video like Vimeo does, then does everything Vimeo stops short of: a player built to hold the viewer to the pitch, pixels fired on watch time, server-side conversions to Meta, TikTok and GA4, and every cart sale joined back to the viewer, the second, the split-test arm and the ad that earned it.

The other Vimeo alternatives each replace one slice. Wistia hands leads to a B2B CRM, Vidalytics is a persuasion player metered on plays and stored videos, SproutVideo and Gumlet are cheaper general hosts, Bunny Stream is raw delivery, and YouTube is free reach. None of them closes the loop from the play to the sale. Start free with 3,000 plays a month, no card.

Why people look for a Vimeo alternative

Vimeo is built to store, polish and showcase video: 4K playback, no ads on the player, review tools, and plenty of storage for the money. Most people who search for Vimeo alternatives are not unhappy with the player. They have hit one of three walls.

The bandwidth threshold. Every self-serve Vimeo plan carries a 2 TB a month bandwidth threshold, set out in Vimeo's help article on bandwidth. Cross it twice in twelve months, or pass 10 TB once, and Vimeo's team reaches out with seven days to cut usage, move to a Custom or Enterprise plan priced on bandwidth, or leave. For a paid-traffic video, crossing the line is the sign the campaign is working. It is also the moment the price stops being the one on the pricing page.

The business-use rule. Vimeo's Plan Usage Policy, updated 30 June 2026, says an account used by or for a company, team or other organization belongs on a business plan. Vimeo's Studio plan is $400 a month billed annually, with 10 seats and 36 TB of bandwidth a year. A sales page is marketing, so a seller should read the policy before counting on the $12 plan.

Illustration: a long progress bar that turns from blue to peach at a padlock, above a small server icon
A storage plan with a bandwidth line in it: the bill is fixed until the video succeeds, then it is renegotiated.

The free plan. Vimeo's free plan holds 3 GB of embeddable video, with 1 TB of bandwidth a month and one seat, per its help center. Embeddable video is what a sales page needs, so 3 GB is a sample. People who want a free host that grows with them look elsewhere.

The missing sales layer. Vimeo's analytics describe watching. Lead capture and calls to action start on the Standard plan, and marketing automation integrations on Advanced. What its public documentation does not describe is the part a seller needs: split tests between videos, ad pixels fired on watch time, or a cart sale tied back to the viewer who watched. If the video's job is to sell, that is the gap, and it is the reason a different kind of tool exists.

A cheaper host fixes the first two walls. Only a tool built for selling fixes all three, which is why TrackPlay is first on this list.

The best Vimeo alternatives at a glance

Entry prices are per month, from each vendor's pricing page on 12 October 2026. Where the page only shows annual billing, the table says so. Every host here meters something different, so price the plan you would actually need.

How we picked these tools

We started from why people leave Vimeo: the bandwidth threshold, a free plan that is too small, and a player that does not measure sales. Then we picked the tools that answer at least one of those well and that a Vimeo customer would realistically move to. Screen recorders and enterprise broadcast platforms were left out; they solve different problems.

Illustration: four tiles with a play button, a bar chart, a shopping cart and a shield, each with a check mark
The four things we checked for each tool: the player, the reporting, the path to a sale, and protection.

For each tool we read the vendor's own pages on 29 September 2026, and checked every price again on 12 October 2026:

  • the pricing page, including what it meters (storage, bandwidth, videos, minutes or plays) and what happens past the limit;
  • the player: autoplay, calls to action, lead capture, and what the viewer can click away to;
  • the reporting, and whether a sale from your cart can reach it;
  • protection: domain restriction, privacy and download controls.

No scores and no stars. A score averages away the one thing that decides it for you. Where a vendor does not say something publicly, we write "not publicly stated" rather than guess.

The seven Vimeo alternatives

We make TrackPlay. Every other entry is sourced from the vendor's own pages; if something here is out of date, email [email protected] and we will correct it.

1. TrackPlay: best Vimeo alternative overall

TrackPlay is the whole selling-with-video system in one account: hosting, a player built to hold the viewer to the pitch, pixels and server-side conversions, analytics that know who bought, and split tests decided on revenue. Vimeo stores the file and reports that it played. TrackPlay follows the viewer from the ad click to the order: the player puts the session into the checkout link, your cart posts the sale back, and the sale lands on the viewer, the second they reached, the split-test arm and the ad that sent them.

Best for: offer owners running VSLs, affiliates and media buyers, ecommerce brands with product video, course sellers and agencies. Anyone whose video has a job to do after the play.

Hosting and the player:

  • Hosting without a bandwidth line. Upload files up to 5 GB, stream them from a global CDN, and see the first frame in about half a second with no layout shift. Content protection locks playback to your domains at the stream itself and serves scrapers a decoy video.
  • A player built for the pitch. Smart Autoplay turns the sound on at the first touch without restarting the video, the smart progress bar makes a long VSL feel shorter, and Continue Watching resumes a returning viewer for 90 days, even on another device.
  • The offer at the right second. CTA cards with countdowns appear at the pitch, timed events reveal the order section on the page at the same moment, and lead forms, watch gates and exit intent catch the viewers who are not ready yet.
  • Every player state, designed. 92 overlay templates for the muted opening, pause, return and end screens, portrait layouts for phones, captions, and AI dubbing into other languages with word-timed captions.

Attribution and analytics:

  • Sales joined to the play. Cart postbacks from ClickBank, BuyGoods, Digistore24, WarriorPlus, JVZoo, Kiwify and ElasticFunnels land each sale on the session that earned it, with affiliate postback mode for ClickBank, BuyGoods, Digistore24 and JVZoo.
  • The ad platform hears about it. Pixels fire at any second or watch percentage, and the sale goes to Meta, TikTok and GA4 server-side with event-id dedup. The player captures 23 click-id parameters across 14 ad platforms and 3 affiliate networks.
  • A retention curve that knows who bought. The retention graph draws buyers and non-buyers as separate curves on one timeline, with the pitch marked and conversion density beside it. Hook Rate, Hold Rate and Revenue per Play sit on every video, and Live Stats shows who is watching right now.
  • Tests decided on money. Split tests run whole videos under one embed, so the ad link never changes. Results carry p-values and confidence intervals, and the winner ships itself only once the statistics clear.
  • The next step, suggested. AI Optimize reads your retention curve and transcript and suggests where the CTA belongs, with one-click apply, and Hot Leads ranks the viewers worth following up.

Pricing: free forever for 3,000 plays a month with no card. Basic is $29 a month for 5,000 plays, Pro $79 for 15,000, Scale $199 for 50,000, and annual billing saves 17%. It meters plays only: a play is one real viewing session, and muted autoplay and bots never count. Overage is off unless you switch it on, so there is no bandwidth conversation when a video takes off. See the pricing page.

Pros: one account from upload to attributed sale; a meter that does not grow with file size or bot traffic; a free plan with no trial clock.

Cons: playback tops out at 1080p, which is what a sales page needs but not a 4K showreel.

Pick it if: your video sells something, or feeds the page that does. Upload your best performer to the free plan and run it next to your Vimeo embed. The feature-by-feature version is Vimeo vs TrackPlay.

2. Wistia: best for B2B marketing teams

Wistia is the marketing team's video host: a clean player, forms and calls to action, channels, webinars, and an Automation Suite that sends viewing data to your marketing platform. Where Vimeo stores and showcases, Wistia turns viewers into leads.

Best for: B2B companies whose videos feed a sales pipeline through a CRM.

Standout features:

  • CTAs and forms on the Business plan, with advanced video analytics.
  • The Automation Suite on Business + Signals: connect to your marketing platform, lead scoring, and pipeline and revenue reporting through it.
  • A/B tests that compare unique views, play rate, play count, engagement and actions; you declare the winner yourself.
  • Per-viewer heatmaps on Business.
  • Video playback protection on Enterprise.

Pricing: on Wistia's pricing page in October 2026, Free holds 25 GB for one user with Wistia branding. Business is $79 a month billed annually ($99 month to month), with 250 GB, 1 TB of bandwidth a month and three users. Business + Signals is $329 a month billed annually ($412 month to month). Enterprise is custom.

Pros: lead capture and a path into a marketing CRM.

Cons: the CRM connection sits on the $329 plan. A conversion is a form fill or a click, and a sale from a cart like ClickBank is not publicly documented as reaching it.

Consider it if: your videos feed a B2B sales team through a CRM. Detail in Wistia vs TrackPlay, and the full list in our Wistia alternatives roundup.

3. Vidalytics: a VSL player billed on plays

Vidalytics is a video host built for direct-response marketers. It carries the features the VSL market expects: Smart Autoplay, a progress bar that makes long videos feel shorter, resume play, exit thumbnails, play gates and A/B experiments.

Best for: marketers who want VSL persuasion features and can do without the sale joined to the session and the ad.

Standout features:

  • Smart Autoplay, Resume Play, Smart Pause and the Rapid Engage Bar.
  • Play gates, lead capture forms, calls to action and countdown timers.
  • Experiments (A/B testing), heatmaps, and audience segmentation that can filter the stats to buyers or non-buyers.
  • Conversion Tracking from the Pro plan, with Script Map showing conversions and revenue per section of the script.

Pricing: on Vidalytics' pricing page in October 2026, now metered on plays: a free plan holds 3 videos and 1,000 plays. On monthly billing Starter is $24 for 2,000 plays, Pro $79 for 5,000 and Premium $149 for 15,000, each with a 14-day trial ($19, $63 and $119 a month billed annually, with the year's plays upfront). Plans include 5, 20 and 50 stored videos; extra plays cost $0.02 and extra videos $0.25.

Pros: a VSL feature set, with a free plan to try it.

Cons: conversion tracking starts on the $79 Pro plan, a muted autoplay counts as a play, and server-side conversion events to the ad platforms are not publicly stated.

Consider it if: you only need the persuasion player. If you also want the sale, the ad click and the test arm on one record, that is what TrackPlay adds. Compare them in Vidalytics vs TrackPlay.

4. SproutVideo: best for a branded video site with live streaming

SproutVideo is the closest thing on this list to Vimeo itself: white-label hosting, a customisable video website, privacy controls and live streaming, with marketing tools such as lead capture and in-player calls to action on every plan. The bill is fixed per tier, with generous included bandwidth.

Best for: businesses that want a Vimeo-style general host with a video website and live streaming.

Standout features:

  • Video landing pages and a customisable video website.
  • Lead capture, in-player calls to action, CRM integrations and video SEO.
  • Password protection, whitelisted playback and viewer login; dynamic watermarks and signed embeds from the Tree plan.
  • Live streaming from the Sprout plan and playback up to 8K.

Pricing: on SproutVideo's pricing page in October 2026, billed annually: Seed $12 a month (150 GB storage, 1,800 GB bandwidth, 2 seats), Sprout $35, Tree $72 and Forest $195. Extra storage or bandwidth on Seed is $0.25 per GB. Every feature can be tried for 30 days without a card.

Pros: a like-for-like general host with a video site and live built in.

Cons: split tests and cart-sale tracking are not publicly stated. Its reports stop at the view.

Consider it if: the video is for a video website or live events rather than for selling.

5. Gumlet: best for cheap hosting with marketing basics

Gumlet is a low-cost video host with a free plan, 4K playback, AI subtitles and live streaming minutes on every plan. From its Creator plan it adds domain restriction and Google and Meta pixel tracking, which covers the basics a marketer needs from a Vimeo replacement.

Best for: creators and small teams who want a cheap, clean player and do not need sales attribution.

Standout features:

  • An ad-free player with password protection and geo-blocking, on the free plan too.
  • Google and Meta pixel tracking and domain restriction from Creator.
  • CRM integrations and private channels from Growth.
  • A DRM add-on (Widevine and FairPlay) for $99 a month.

Pricing: on Gumlet's pricing page in October 2026, Free includes 60 storage minutes and 100 GB of bandwidth a month. Billed annually, Creator is $6 a month, Growth $19 and Business $99 ($9, $29 and $149 month to month), with storage counted in minutes of video.

Pros: the lowest paid entry price here, and pixels on a cheap plan.

Cons: storage is metered in minutes, which bites with long VSLs. Split tests and cart-sale tracking are not publicly stated.

Consider it if: your videos are short, they do not sell anything, and price is the only reason you are leaving Vimeo.

6. Bunny Stream: best for developers delivering at volume

Bunny Stream is video delivery priced like infrastructure. Encoding is free, the player and security features are included, and you pay for storage and traffic by the gigabyte. There is no plan ladder to climb and no bandwidth threshold to trip, just a usage bill.

Best for: developers and technical teams who want cheap, fast delivery and will build the marketing layer themselves.

Standout features:

  • Free encoding and a free player.
  • Security features at no extra charge.
  • Storage regions and CDN zones you can switch on and off to control cost.

Pricing: on Bunny's pricing page in October 2026, storage starts at $0.01 per GB and CDN traffic at $0.005 per GB, with a $1 monthly minimum and a 14-day free trial.

Pros: very low cost at volume and a bill that scales smoothly.

Cons: it is a delivery service. Lead capture, calls to action, split tests and sales tracking are not publicly stated; you would build them.

Consider it if: you have developers who will build the player, tracking and testing layer themselves.

7. YouTube: best for free reach

YouTube is free, it has an audience of its own, and a video there can be found through search. For content meant to be discovered, nothing else on this list competes. On a sales page it is a different story.

Best for: content marketing, tutorials and anything you want found in search.

Standout features:

  • Free hosting and delivery at any volume.
  • Discovery through YouTube search and recommendations.
  • Unlisted videos for sharing without publishing.

Pricing: free.

Pros: no bill, and an audience that Vimeo cannot give you.

Cons: the embedded player sends viewers elsewhere. According to YouTube's player documentation, setting rel to 0 still shows related videos from your channel, and the channel avatar and title show before playback, on pause and at the end. YouTube's terms also let it monetize your content, which can include ads.

Consider it if: reach is the goal. Keep the sales video somewhere that does not show the viewer another video when they pause.

How to switch from Vimeo

Moving a video host is mostly logistics. The order matters, because the goal is that no page is ever without a working video and no pixel goes quiet.

Illustration: an upload tile, a code tile and a cart tile joined by arrows, with a return arrow under the cart
Three moves: upload the file, swap the embed, reconnect the sale. The return arrow is the postback that closes the loop.
  1. Download your files. On a paid Vimeo account, the owner can download each video from its settings page, as Vimeo's help center describes. The original source file is only there if "Keep source video files" was switched on before upload; otherwise download the highest quality version, or use your own master.
  2. Note what each video does. Its calls to action, lead forms, chapters and the pages it is embedded on. Screenshot or export the Vimeo stats you want to keep, because they stay behind.
  3. Upload to the new host and rebuild the player settings: autoplay, controls, the CTA at the pitch, any gate or form. In TrackPlay, a starter pack configures a video for a VSL in one click.
  4. Swap the embed code on each page, one page at a time, starting with the one that gets the least traffic.
  5. Move your pixels to watch time. If Vimeo was sending nothing to your ad accounts, this is the upgrade: fire the Meta or Google pixel when a viewer reaches the pitch, not when the page loads.
  6. Connect the cart. Point your cart's postback at the new host so each sale lands on the play that earned it, then make one test purchase and check it arrives.
  7. Keep Vimeo until the new embed has run a full week. Compare play rate and completion before you cancel.

If you want the longer version of what a sales video host has to do that a general host does not, read what is VSL hosting, and for the player itself, what makes a good VSL video player.

Which Vimeo alternative is best?

For a video that sells, TrackPlay. It is the only tool on this list that covers the whole path in one account: it hosts the file, plays it with the sound on and the offer timed to the pitch, fires your pixels on watch time, sends the sale to Meta, TikTok and GA4 server-side, and joins every cart sale to the viewer, the second, the test arm and the ad. The rest each cover one slice of that, and none of them closes the loop from the play to the sale.

The other tools fit jobs that are not selling:

  • A B2B lead pipeline through a marketing CRM: Wistia.
  • A public video website or live events: SproutVideo.
  • Short, non-sales videos on the smallest bill: Gumlet, or Bunny Stream if developers will build the rest.
  • Being found in search: YouTube, for content you want discovered.

Start with your best-performing video. The free plan covers 3,000 plays a month with no card, which is enough to run it next to your Vimeo embed for a week and see which second earns the sale.

FAQ

Vimeo alternatives FAQ

What is the best Vimeo alternative?

For anyone who sells with video, TrackPlay. It hosts the video, plays it with the sound on and the offer timed to the pitch, fires pixels on watch time, sends the sale to Meta, TikTok and GA4 server-side, and ties every cart sale to the viewer, the second and the ad. The other alternatives each cover one slice: Wistia hands leads to a B2B CRM, SproutVideo and Gumlet are general hosts, Bunny Stream is raw delivery, and YouTube is free reach.

Is there a free Vimeo alternative?

Yes, several. YouTube is free with ads and suggested videos. Wistia's free plan holds 25 GB for one user. Vidalytics has a free plan with 3 videos and 1,000 plays a month. Gumlet's free plan includes 60 storage minutes. TrackPlay's free plan gives 3,000 plays a month with no card and no time limit.

Why is Vimeo asking me to upgrade because of bandwidth?

Vimeo's self-serve plans carry a 2 TB a month bandwidth threshold. Its help center says the team reaches out if you exceed 2 TB twice in 12 months or 10 TB once, and gives you seven days to reduce usage, move to a Custom or Enterprise plan priced on bandwidth, or leave. A video that gets popular is exactly the one that crosses it.

Is the Vimeo free plan still available?

Yes. Vimeo's help center says the free plan holds 3 GB of embeddable or non-public video, with 1 TB of bandwidth a month and one seat, while public videos that cannot be embedded are unlimited. Accounts created before 17 June 2024 may have other limits. It is fine for a test; a business embedding sales video outgrows it fast.

What is the best Vimeo alternative for a VSL?

TrackPlay. A VSL needs things Vimeo does not publicly document: sound on at the first touch, a buy button timed to the pitch, pixels fired on watch time, split tests between videos, and the sale posted back from the cart. TrackPlay does all of it in one account and joins each sale to the session, the test arm and the ad click. Vidalytics has the persuasion player, with conversion tracking from its $79 plan and a plays meter that counts muted autoplays.

Can I use YouTube instead of Vimeo for business videos?

For reach, yes. For a sales page, it costs you. Even with the rel parameter set to 0, YouTube's player still shows related videos from your own channel, the channel avatar and title show before playback and when paused, and YouTube's terms let it monetize your content, which can include ads.

Wistia or Vimeo: which is better for marketing?

Wistia is built for B2B marketing teams: forms and CTAs from Business at $79 a month billed annually, and CRM automation with the Signals plan at $329. Vimeo is built for storing and showcasing video, with lead capture and CTAs from its Standard plan. Neither publishes a way to tie a cart sale to the play.

Will I lose my analytics if I leave Vimeo?

Your Vimeo history stays in Vimeo, so export or screenshot what you need before you cancel. The new host starts counting from its first play. Run both embeds in parallel for a week if you want a clean before and after.

How long does it take to switch from Vimeo?

For a handful of videos, an afternoon: download the files, upload them to the new host, swap the embed code on each page, recreate the CTAs, and reconnect your pixels and cart. A large library takes longer mostly because of the downloads.

Does TrackPlay host the video or only play it?

Both. You upload the file, up to 5 GB, and TrackPlay encodes it, streams it from a global CDN, and serves the player. It is billed on plays only, and a muted autoplay or a bot is never counted as a play.

Run it next to your Vimeo embed

Upload your best video, swap one embed, and see which second earns the sale. Free forever: 3,000 plays a month, no card.
