If your video sells something, TrackPlay is the best Wistia alternative. The other tools on this list are hosts or players, and none of them publicly states a cart sale posted back onto the viewing session or server-side ad events. TrackPlay is the whole selling-with-video system: hosting, a player built for the pitch, the cart sale posted back onto the viewing session, server-side events to Meta, TikTok and GA4, and analytics that know which viewers bought. It is billed on real plays, with no Automation Suite to buy on top.
The rest of the list covers narrower jobs: Vidalytics for a VSL player on a plays meter, Spotlightr for protected course video, Vimeo and SproutVideo for a general library, Vidyard and Hippo Video for sales reps' outreach video, Brightcove for enterprise media. Every competitor price was read on the vendor's own pricing page on 12 October 2026.
Wistia was built to host a B2B brand's video library, collect leads with in-video forms, and hand that data to a marketing automation tool. Most people searching for Wistia alternatives have outgrown that model in one of two ways: the bill measures the wrong thing, and the measurement stops before the sale.
Start TrackPlay free: 3,000 plays a month, no card.
Why people look for a Wistia alternative
Three reasons come up again and again, and each one points to a different replacement.
1. The price ladder to reach your CRM
Wistia's free plan holds 25 GB of storage with 200 GB of bandwidth, for 1 user, with Wistia branding on the player. Business is $79 a month billed annually for 250 GB, 1 TB of bandwidth and 3 users, with extra users at $25 each, or $99 a month on monthly billing. That plan has CTAs, forms, heatmaps and A/B testing.
What it does not have is the Automation Suite: the HubSpot, Marketo and Pardot integrations, lead scoring, sales alerts and pipeline attribution. Wistia sells that only as Business + Signals, at $329 a month billed annually or $412 month to month. So the step from "host my videos" to "tell my CRM who watched" is $250 a month on annual billing.

2. A meter that counts gigabytes
Wistia meters storage and bandwidth. It moved from per-video limits to storage limits on 17 March 2026, so complaints about paying per video are out of date; the meter is now gigabytes. Its pricing FAQ is direct about it: everything in the account counts toward storage, including recordings and clips, and beyond what the plan includes you "prepay for more upfront, or pay for usage". A video library that grows, or one ad that goes wide, moves the bill whether or not anyone bought. Bots load video too, and a bandwidth meter charges for their views the same as a buyer's.
3. A conversion that ends at a form fill
In Wistia's analytics, the Conversion tab counts submissions from Wistia Forms, and only Wistia Forms, per its help article on media analytics. Each video can carry one Wistia Form and one call to action, and the viewer can always skip the call to action, per its article on lead generation tools. A/B tests show unique views, play rate, play count, engagement and actions, and you click the winner yourself.
For a B2B team, a form fill is the conversion. For anyone selling on the page, through ClickBank, Digistore24 or their own checkout, the conversion is the order. Nothing in that list is an order.

How we picked
We make TrackPlay. We judged every tool on what a seller buys on: whether the sale reaches the video, whether ad platforms get watch-time and purchase events server-side, whether split tests are decided on sales, what the bill meters, and what protects the video. The other seven were chosen by the reasons buyers leave Wistia: a lower bill, a different meter, download protection, sales outreach video or enterprise scale.
For each tool we read the public pricing page and the relevant help documentation on 29 September 2026, and checked every price again on 12 October 2026. We did not run hands-on tests for this list, and there are no star ratings or scores. Where a vendor does not publicly state a capability, the table says "Not publicly stated" rather than guessing a no. Prices are in US dollars, before tax.
The 8 best Wistia alternatives
1. TrackPlay: best overall for selling with video
TrackPlay is the whole system for selling with video, in one account. It hosts and streams the file, plays it in a player built around the pitch, ties each cart sale to the viewing session that earned it, sends watch-time and purchase events to your ad platforms server-side, and reports on every viewer with the buyers marked. Where Wistia's conversion is a form fill, TrackPlay's is the order, with the video, the watch depth, the split-test arm and the ad click attached.
- Best for: anyone selling with video: offer owners, affiliates, media buyers, info-product and course sellers, ecommerce brands and the agencies that run their funnels.
- Billed on: plays. A play is one real viewing session. Muted autoplay and bots are not plays.
Hosting and delivery. Upload files up to 5 GB and embed one snippet. The first frame shows in about half a second with zero layout shift, and a Quality tab reports startup time, buffering and errors per video. Playback is locked to your domains, with bot, VPN, geo and device rules and a decoy video for scrapers and downloaders, on every plan. Wistia keeps playback protection for Enterprise.
A player built for the pitch.
- Smart Autoplay turns the sound on at the first touch without restarting the video, and a Smart Progress Bar replaces the scrub bar.
- CTA cards in 4 layouts with countdowns and weighted variants, plus timed events that reveal the order section of your page at the pitch. Wistia allows one form and one CTA per video.
- Lead capture forms, watch gates and exit intent.
- Continue watching across devices for 90 days, time-range thumbnails for returning viewers, and 92 overlay and end-screen templates.
- Captions, portrait versions for phones, and AI dubbing into other languages with word-timed captions.
The sale, joined to the play. The player puts a session key into your checkout link, and your cart posts the order back: ClickBank, BuyGoods, Digistore24, WarriorPlus, JVZoo, Kiwify and ElasticFunnels, with an affiliate postback mode for the networks. TrackPlay captures 23 click-id parameters across 14 ad platforms and 3 affiliate networks, so each sale carries the ad that started it.
Ad platforms that learn from buyers. Pixels fire at any second or watch percentage, and events go server-side to the Meta Conversions API, the TikTok Events API and GA4 Measurement Protocol with event-id dedup, so the browser and server copies count once. No add-on tier, no CRM in the middle.
Analytics that know who bought.
- A per-5-second retention curve with buyers and non-buyers drawn as their own curves on one timeline, the Pitch marker, and conversion density beside them.
- A metrics catalogue with published formulas: Hook Rate, Hold Rate, Completion, Revenue per Play and more.
- Live Stats refreshed every 10 seconds, and Sources that say Unknown instead of guessing Direct, with bot traffic filtered out.
- Hot Leads scores every non-buyer from 0 to 100, and Customer 360 shows one viewer's full journey across visits and devices.
Tests decided on sales. Split tests run whole-video variants under one embed, with viewers kept on their arm for 30 days. The winner is judged on the sale, with p-values and confidence intervals, and ships automatically only after the minimum duration (7 days by default), the minimum sample and significance. Turbo runs playback speeds as a split decided on conversions. Wistia's A/B tests report plays and "average engagement", and you pick the winner by hand. AI Optimize suggests the next change once a video has about 300 plays.
For agencies and developers. Workspaces per client with team roles, a public REST API and a player JavaScript API, webhooks, and watch-depth tags into GoHighLevel and ActiveCampaign.
Pricing (on the TrackPlay pricing page, September 2026): free forever with 3,000 plays a month and no card. Basic is $29 a month for 5,000 plays ($0.02 per extra play), Pro $79 for 15,000 ($0.01), Scale $199 for 50,000 ($0.01), custom above that. Annual billing saves 17%. Overage is opt-in: with it off, videos pause at the quota instead of billing you. Compare that with Wistia's $329 a month for Business + Signals, before a single sale is tracked.
Pros
- One system from upload to the sale, instead of a host plus a tracker plus a CRM add-on.
- The bill follows real viewing sessions.
- Server-side ad events and cart postbacks without an add-on tier.
Cons
- It hosts finished videos. Live events and webinars belong on a live-streaming platform.
Consider it if your video's job is revenue. The side-by-side detail is on Wistia vs TrackPlay, and the fastest test is your own best video: start free with 3,000 plays a month.
2. Vidalytics: a VSL player on a plays meter
Vidalytics is a video player for marketers who sell with video. Its feature list covers the VSL playback basics: Smart Autoplay, resume play, play gates, countdown timers, exit thumbnails and A/B experiments. It meters plays and videos stored, and its sale tracking starts on Pro.
- Best for: a VSL player with conversion tracking on a plays-based bill.
- Billed on: plays and videos stored. A muted autoplay counts as a play.
Standout features: Smart Autoplay and Resume Play; play gates and lead capture forms; conversion tracking with revenue per script section, heatmaps and segmentation on Pro; Experiments (A/B testing).
Pricing (on the Vidalytics pricing page, October 2026): a free plan with 3 videos and 1,000 plays. Starter $19 a month billed annually ($24 monthly) with 5 videos and 2,000 plays a month. Pro $63 billed annually ($79 monthly) with 20 videos and 5,000 plays a month. Premium $119 billed annually ($149 monthly) with 50 videos, 15,000 plays a month and 5 users. Extra plays are $0.02 each and extra videos $0.25. Paid plans have a 14-day trial.
Pros: built for sales video; a free plan.
Cons: a muted autoplay counts as a play; conversion tracking and segmentation only from Pro; server-side Meta Conversions API from the player not publicly stated.
Consider it if you want a VSL player with conversion tracking and per-play pricing suits your traffic. The detail is on Vidalytics vs TrackPlay.
3. Vimeo: a general library host with live events
Vimeo is a general video host with more storage per dollar than Wistia. On the Wistia vs Vimeo question: Wistia adds lead scoring and pipeline attribution on its Signals tier, Vimeo adds a bigger library and live events for less. Neither posts a cart sale back to the video.
- Best for: a large, ad-free library and live streaming.
- Billed on: seats and storage, with 2 TB of bandwidth a month on the self-serve plans.
Standout features: 2 TB of storage on Starter; lead capture and calls to action from Standard; livestreamed events and marketing automation integrations on Advanced; screen recording.
Pricing (on the Vimeo pricing page, October 2026): Starter $12 a month billed annually ($20 monthly), 1 user. Standard $25 billed annually ($41 monthly), 5 users. Advanced $75 billed annually ($125 monthly), 10 users. Enterprise on request. Free trial on each plan.
Pros: low cost per terabyte; live events in the same account.
Cons: no lead capture or CTAs on Starter; marketing automation integrations only on Advanced; cart sale postback and server-side ad events not publicly stated.
Consider it if you need live events or a big internal library. The detail is on Vimeo vs TrackPlay.
4. SproutVideo: white-label hosting on a gigabyte meter
SproutVideo is a business video host with a white-label player, landing pages, live streaming and a ladder of security features. It meters storage and bandwidth, and its strongest protection sits on the two top plans.
- Best for: a branded library with access control.
- Billed on: storage and bandwidth, with per-GB overage.
Standout features: lead capture, in-player CTAs and CRM integrations on every plan; video landing pages; dynamic watermarks and signed embeds on Tree; geo and IP whitelists and viewer SSO on Forest.
Pricing (on the SproutVideo pricing page, October 2026): Seed $12 a month billed annually with 150 GB of storage, 1,800 GB of bandwidth and 2 seats. Sprout $35, Tree $72, Forest $195, all billed annually. Extra bandwidth or storage is $0.25 per GB on Seed, falling to $0.06 on Forest. 30-day free trial with no card.
Pros: a long trial; marketing tools on the cheapest plan.
Cons: watermarks, signed embeds and geo rules only from $72 a month; a gigabyte meter; cart sale postback and split tests not publicly stated.
Consider it if you want Wistia-style hosting with a white-label player and the sale is not the metric.
5. Spotlightr: course hosting with download protection
Spotlightr is a video host aimed at course creators, with HLS encryption against downloads on every plan, a course module, quizzes and student reporting. Its entry plan caps you at 25 videos.
- Best for: course libraries that must not leak.
- Billed on: videos, storage and bandwidth.
Standout features: HLS encryption and domain embed protection from Light; CTAs and in-video lead forms; email gating and ESP and CRM integrations on Plus; quizzes, CRM tags and tracking codes on Premium.
Pricing (on the Spotlightr pricing page, October 2026): Light $13 a month for 25 videos, 50 GB of storage and 200 GB of bandwidth a month. Plus $21, Premium $55, Scale $163. Annual billing gives two months free. 14-day trial with no card.
Pros: encryption without an Enterprise contract; course features.
Cons: 25 videos on Light; monthly bandwidth caps on every plan; server-side ad events and cart postbacks not publicly stated.
Consider it if the videos are the course you sell, rather than the pitch that sells it.
6. Vidyard: video messages for sales reps
Vidyard now leads with video messages for sales teams: record, send, see who watched, and let an AI agent create personalized videos. It is priced per seat, its Free plan has no video hosting, and its CRM integrations sit on the custom-priced Teams plan.
- Best for: sales reps using video in one-to-one outreach.
- Billed on: seats.
Standout features: unlimited recording and video analytics on Starter; branded sharing pages and CTA templates; the Video Agent add-on and AI avatars; CRM and marketing automation integrations on Teams.
Pricing (on the Vidyard pricing page, October 2026): Free at $0 with 5 videos a month and no video hosting. Starter $59 per seat a month billed annually ($89 monthly), with a 14-day trial. Teams and Enterprise are custom pricing. The Video Agent add-on is $24 per seat a month billed annually.
Pros: built around the rep's workflow.
Cons: cost grows with every seat; CRM integrations only on custom pricing; not built for a page-embedded sales video on paid traffic.
Consider it if the people using Wistia today are reps sending outreach video.
7. Hippo Video: personalized outreach video
Hippo Video is a video messaging platform for sales teams, built around automated personalized videos and sales pages. It serves the same buyer as Vidyard, at a lower seat price.
- Best for: personalized video in outbound sequences.
- Billed on: users.
Standout features: automated personalized videos (50 on Free, 100 on Pro, 300 on Teams); sales page templates and video flows; interactive CTAs on Pro; sales platform integrations on Teams.
Pricing (on the Hippo Video pricing page, October 2026): Free at $0. Pro $20 per user a month billed annually ($30 monthly) with a 7-day trial. Teams $60 billed annually ($75 monthly). Enterprise $80 per user billed annually, minimum 10 seats.
Pros: low entry price per user.
Cons: sales platform integrations only from Teams; built for one-to-one outreach.
Consider it if you want outreach video at a lower seat price than Vidyard.
8. Brightcove: enterprise media platform
Brightcove is an enterprise video platform sold in packages for marketing, internal communications and media companies, with OTT apps and live streaming as extensions. Prices are not public, and it points to a demo instead of a trial.
- Best for: large organisations with procurement, SSO and multi-account needs.
- Billed on: a quote.
Standout features: Marketing Studio packages (Starter, Essential, Premium); SSO, domain whitelisting and URL tokenization; CRM integrations; OTT apps and an Enterprise Live Package add-on.
Pricing (on the Brightcove Marketing Studio page, September 2026): pricing on request. Brightcove offers "flexible pricing plans based on your specific needs" and a demo rather than a free trial.
Pros: enterprise account structure and security.
Cons: no public prices; a sales cycle before the first upload; cart sale postback not publicly stated.
Consider it if you run a media operation with OTT apps.

Wistia keeps playback protection for Enterprise, SproutVideo puts signed embeds on Tree and geo rules on Forest, and Spotlightr includes HLS encryption from Light.
How to switch from Wistia
A switch is a weekend of work for most accounts, and none of it needs the old host switched off first.

- Get your original files. Upload the master file you already have. If you only have the copy in Wistia, download the original from Wistia first, following Wistia's own help docs, and export any analytics you want to keep.
- Swap the embed code. Upload the video to the new host, then replace the Wistia embed on each page, one page at a time, starting with the page that gets the most traffic.
- Rebuild CTAs, forms and gates. Wistia's form, CTA and annotation links live in its player, so they do not travel with the file. Re-create them at the same seconds in the new player.
- Move pixels to watch-time events. Fire the ad pixel when a viewer reaches the moment that matters, not on page load, and send the same events server-side so the ad platform still sees them when the browser blocks the pixel. The guide to sending watch time to Meta covers which moments to send.
- Connect the cart postback. Point your cart's postback at TrackPlay so each sale lands on the viewing session that earned it.
- Keep Wistia live for a full week. Leave the old embed on a share of pages until the new one has run a full week, so you compare the two on the same traffic before you cancel.
Which Wistia alternative is best?
For anyone selling with video, TrackPlay. It hosts the video, plays it with a player built for the pitch, joins the cart sale to the viewing session, sends watch-time and purchase events server-side to Meta, TikTok and GA4, and decides split tests on the sale, in one account. None of the other seven publicly states that full chain.
A few jobs sit outside selling with video, and each has a narrower tool:
- Live events and webinars: Vimeo Advanced, or SproutVideo from Sprout.
- Reps sending one-to-one outreach video: Vidyard or Hippo Video.
- An enterprise media operation with OTT apps: Brightcove.
Start with your best-performing video. The free plan covers 3,000 plays a month with no card: enough to see which second loses viewers, which viewers bought, and what your ad platform should be optimizing for. For what separates a VSL host from a general one, read what VSL hosting is and what makes a good VSL video player.
